More publicity?

Okay..as far as i know, the users on here are ALL on pottermore and have been in TLD on tinychat correct? i just had a fleeting idea that maybe we could get this forum more out there..get more people to join? maybe get to know more ravenclaw fans? just an idea here, i would totally understand if you guys wanted to keep this exclusive for us who have gotten to know each other one way or another through TLD or Pottermore.

I'm up for suggestions on how. My problem with just putting it out there is more about getting immature jerks/trolls than anything. I remember when we first started TLD on TC and we were being raided by the other "houses" and trolled and spammed. If you can figure out a way to streamline this place while attracting decent folks I'm all for it.

While we all love HP the difference for us is that we've become a community and not just HP fans. In fact we hardly talk about HP anymore. And we're unique in that sense. So while I think we can cater toward trying to get more HP fans it's if they will stick and form into our already set community well or not. :/

We could always draw attention to the chat again, and use it as a funnel... Weed out the bad ones and invite those we deem worthy to join us on here. It would take coordination, tho... And we'd have to reinstate the password.

see, what i wanted to try to do was sort of TRY posting in our common room on pottermore. lol. that's where i actually found out about TLD chat..took me a longer time to find the fb page at first though. i had to keep scrolling to get decent answers. trolls and spammers we would have to deal with i think either way. but that's why you're here froggie! to bust out the troll bane. JK.

if we were to use TLD as a funnel, we'd have to get the word out on the facebook page as well so that people will be able to get the password.

say we get word out there, are we going to keep it strictly to ravenclaws? what if other people from other houses try to join? should we verify via PM?

I'm all for opening it up to more people using the chat to filter out the trolls. It might even be exciting to talk to some trolls in the chat, rather than hanging out in the room by yourself for hours waiting for anyone else to show up. Plus, someday when Pottermore comes out of beta, we should at least try to open up TLD to the new folks as well.

i think we're all for the opening to other peeps..the only question is how. i was in the bathroom brushing my teeth. i know, the most randumb things come up. ok so TLD will serve as a filter of some sort to the trolls and spammers right.. but to have them in there, do we or do we not put up the password?? if we DO put it up, then we'd have to have them in the FB group..should i try getting word out about the FB group or what...idk, maybe posting it a few times on PM in our common room might get some new claws but i'm not sure.

I would be perfectly fine with that, Blue! It would be nice to welcome some new folks into the fold. =)

Maybe we should try posting more on other Ravenclaw sites? Perhaps we can even get more hits on YouTube if we do some interesting videos... hmm... I'll think about this a bit. We need to know how we really really want to market this. I think we need some sort of plan.

A plan would be good... But I wouldn't be against pointing people towards the chat and the forum through RR videos.
